Infertility

Primary infertility describes couples who have never been able to become pregnant after at least 1 year of unprotected sex -LRB- intercourse -RRB- .Secondary infertility describes couples who have been pregnant at least once , but have not been able to become pregnant again . After a year of trying to get pregnant unsuccessfully, it is recommended that you see a physician for diagnosis of secondary infertility." Growths can cause mild to severe pain, infertility (not being able to get pregnant), and heavy periods. She is also going through this infertility battle. So, I'm choosing my way of solving infertility issues.
Overview
The physical symptom of infertility is the inability to become pregnant.Experiencing infertility can bring on a range of painful emotions in one or both members of the couple . I experienced infertility while trying to conceive my 2nd child. In general , having at least one child already tends to soften these painful emotions . It just gets too complicated with the want of a child and the stress that comes with infertility.
Symptoms
Increase your chance of becoming pregnant each month by having sexual intercourse at least every 3 days in the weeks leading up to and through the expected time of ovulation . Ovulation occurs about 2 weeks before the next period starts . So , if you get your period every 28 days , you should have sexual intercourse at least every 3 days between the 7th and 18th day after you get your period.Treatment depends on the cause of infertility . It may involve : Education and counselingMedical procedures such as intrauterine insemination -LRB- IUI -RRB- and in vitro fertilization -LRB- IVF -RRB- Medicines to treat infections and clotting disorders , or promote ovulationIt is important to recognize and discuss the emotional impact that infertility has on you and your partner , and to seek medical advice from your health care provider . For those that dont know what IVF and IUI are those are infertility treatments.
Treatment
Causes of infertility include a wide range of both physical and emotional factors . A couple 's infertility may be due to female factors , male factors , or both : FEMALE INFERTILITY : Female infertility may be due to : Problems with a fertilized egg or embryo being able to survive once it is attached to the lining of the uterusProblems with the eggs being able to attach to the lining of the uterusProblems with the eggs being able to move from the ovary to the uterusProblems with the ovaries producing eggsFemale infertility may be caused by : Autoimmune disorders , such as antiphospholipid syndrome -LRB- APS -RRB- Clotting disordersDefects of the uterus and cervix -LRB- myomas or fibroids , polyps , birth defects -RRB- Excessive exercising , eating disorders , or poor nutritionExposure to certain medications or toxinsHeavy use of alcoholHormone imbalance or deficienciesLong - term -LRB- chronic -RRB- disease , such as diabetesObesityOvarian cysts and polycystic ovary syndrome -LRB- PCOS -RRB- Pelvic infection or pelvic inflammatory disease -LRB- PID -RRB- Scarring from sexually transmitted disease or endometriosisTumorMALE INFERTILITY : Male infertility may be due to : A decrease in the number of spermSperm being blocked from being releasedSperm that do not work properlyMale infertility can be caused by : Environmental pollutantsExposure to high heat for prolonged periodsGenetic abnormalitiesHeavy use of alcohol , marijuana , or cocaineHormone deficiency or taking too much of a hormoneImpotenceInfections of the testes or epididymisOlder agePrevious chemotherapyPrevious scarring due to infection -LRB- including sexually transmitted diseases -RRB- , trauma , or surgeryRadiation exposureRetrograde ejaculationSmokingSurgery or traumaUse of prescription drugs , such as cimetidine , spironolactone , and nitrofurantoinIn healthy couples both under age 30 , having sex regularly , the chance of getting pregnant is only 25 - 30 % per month . During my first round of infertility (about 4 years ago), I developed cysts after my second round of drugs and had to sit a month out. Letting infections go to long can lead to Pelvic inflammatory disease and/or infertility or fertility problems. A condition called polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is associated with infertility. A woman 's peak fertility occurs in her early 20s . As a woman ages beyond 35 -LRB- and especially after age 40 -RRB- , the likelihood of getting pregnant drops to less than 10 % per month. When to seek help for infertility depends on your age . For women under age 30 , it is generally recommended to try to conceive for at least a year before seeking testing .
Causes
A complete medical history and physical examination of both partners is essential.Tests may include : For women : Blood hormone levelsCervical mucus to detect ovulationHysterosalpingography -LRB- HSG -RRB- Pelvic ultrasoundLaparoscopy -LRB- especially if endometriosis is suspected -RRB- Luteinizing hormone urine test -LRB- ovulation predictor kit -RRB- Pelvic examProgestin challengeSerum progesteroneTemperature first thing in the morning to check for ovulation -LRB- basal body temperature charting -RRB- For men : Semen analysisTesticular biopsy -LRB- rarely done -RRB- I had the HSG done a while back also, it was the first test they did to check for my infertility also.
Tests & diagnosis
A cause can be determined for about 80 - 85 % of infertile couples.Getting the right therapy -LRB- not including advanced techniques such as in vitro fertilization -RRB- allows pregnancy to occur in 50 - 60 % of couples who were infertile.Without any treatment , 15 - 20 % of couples diagnosed as infertile will eventually become pregnant . I took classes and she helped find out some of my infertility issues, and eventually she helped me achieve a pregnancy.
Prognosis
Because sexually transmitted diseases -LRB- STDs -RRB- often cause infertility , practicing safer sex behaviors may minimize the risk . Gonorrhea and chlamydia are the two most common causes of STD - related infertility.STDs often do n't have symptoms at first , until PID or salpingitis develops . Yes, surgery scar tissue can cause infertility. PID can cause permanent damage that can lead to chronic pelvic pain, infertility, and potentially fatal ectopic pregnancy. These conditions scar the fallopian tubes and lead to decreased fertility , infertility , or an increased risk of ectopic pregnancy.Getting a mumps vaccine in men has been shown to prevent mumps and its complication , orchitis . The vaccine prevents mumps - related sterility. Some forms of birth control , such as the intrauterine device -LRB- IUD -RRB- , carry a risk for pelvic infection , especially in women with more than one sex partner and when sexually transmitted diseases occur.Maintain a healthy diet , weight , and lifestyle to optimize your chances for getting pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy.Remember to take either prenatal or multivitamins containing folate while you are trying to become pregnant to decrease your risk for miscarriage and fetal abnormalities .
Prevention
Although infertility itself does not cause physical illness , it can have a major emotional impact on the couples and individuals it affects.Couples may have problems with their marriage . I have heard that male factor infertility is the cause of 40% of couples infertility problems. For example: it can get embedded and cause all kinds of problems... tear up the tissue and leave scar tissue and could cause infertility problems. Individuals may experience depression and anxiety .
Complications
Call for an appointment with your health care provider if you are unable to get pregnant . This board is for health related infertility issues only.

infertility insurance treatments cover unexplained specialist dh endo sperm ttc periods
Then following that I suffered unexplained infertility for the next 4 years, tests showed I was ovulating and my dh sperm was normal and mobile.
Some insurances if they dont cover infertility testing will cover the exact same tests aas long as they arent listed as infertility testing.
Infertility treatments such as IUI and IVF wouldnt be possible and sperm donors wouldnt be able to donate.
I would HIGHLY recommend going to an infertility/reproductive endo specialist right away.
My old health plan from another state was cheaper and it covered infertility, I was told that this covered infertility...until I scheduled an appointment.

infertility depo pcos untreated ovarian syndrome factor gyn polycystic tubal stories
One last question I forgot to ask...is it true that a yeast infection left untreated can result in infertility? .............
The thought has never crossed my mind after the horror stories I have read of the depo shot to onset PCOS (policystic ovarian syndrome) and the infertility problems many women have experienced being on that stuff.
Many RE's specialize in PCOS as well as infertility............so why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone, right?
Polycystic ovaries may be part of the polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which includes hirsutism, infertility, oligomenorrhea, obesity, and acne.
I have also been diagonosed with enlarged thyroid (although the blood levels are normal), elevated liver enzymes, psoriasis, adhesions, infertility, allergies, andmitrovalve prolapse.
