A Glimpse of Me

 I was born in Yancheng, Jiangsu, China. In that city, I received K-12 education and graduated from Yancheng High School in 1995. I attended Nanjing University in Nanjing, Jiangsu and got B.S. of Computer Science in July 1999.  I lived in Nanjing from 1995 to 2001, which made me fall in love with this beautiful city. And super fortunately, I met Lihua and got married in Nanjing.

    Nevertheless, I left Nanjing in summer, 2001 and joined the Ph. D. program in Department of Computer Science, University of Illinois, at Urbana-Champaign. Super fortunately, I met my super smart and nice advisor ChengXiang Zhai in 2002 and together we began the adventure in User-Centered Adaptive Information Retrieval (UCAIR) research. I have a lot of fun when I work with my advisor and colleagues. I expect to get the Ph.D. in May, 2007.   

    Besides doing research, I enjoy reading, travel, and sports.
