based on their buy-in cost and the amount of goods in stock. However, if other
competing compaies offer a lower price at the same time, most customers will
spend their money at other companies. The consequence is that the goods cannot
be sold and company will incur more cost. If we can build an information
retrieval system that collect all the retailing prices from other competing
companies. Then we can price the merchandise more competitively. The challenge
in this system includes how to find all prices of certain merchandise on the
web, and how to link some effect that make the price not directly visible, like
the on sale or coupon information.

Email :

Sometimes, we forward some interesting article to friends, or receive some
interesting articles forwarded by others. It is usuful to build a automated
email forwarding system, that can forward emails based on the content in email
and the interest of friends in your mail list. It requires to extract the
information in the email and classify the email as well as the friends into
groups.

Literature :

It is interesting to build a note taking system. When a student study a new
subject, sometime it is hard to distinguish what is more important in this
subject from what is not important. By collecting many textbooks and the class
handout or lecture note, we might automated generate the note for the subject.
It help student learn a new subject quickly.
