Graduate students who take the course for full credit (i.e., 4 graduate hours) are required to finish a small project, which could be either a literature review on a bioinformatics topic or some piece of research work in bioinformatics. A project report is due on Dec. 17, Saturday. Please email the report to the instructor, ChengXiang Zhai (czhai AT cs.uiuc.edu).

Graduate students who are interested in doing more serious project work are strongly recommended to take the new course CS598 SS : Probabilistic Methods for Biological Sequence Analysis offered by Professor Saurabh Sinha .
